Located to the south of Santa Rosa near Cotati. The Redwood Drive-In was opened September 5, 1947 with Tommy Dorsey & Jimmy Dorsey in “The Fabulous Dorseys” & Peter Lawford in “Son of Lassie”. It was operated by Jess Levine & Paul Zenovich with General Theatrical Co. Later owned by United Artists it was closed on July 16, 1986 with Mitchell Gaulord in “American Anthem” & Sylvestor Stallone in “Cobra”. Now Outback and Wal-Mart.

This is actually in Rohnert Park, CA which may at one point have been southern Santa Rosa.
Sept 5,1947 Grand Opening Night
Grand opening features were “The Fabulous Dorseys” and “Son Of Lassie”. Final night of operation was July 16, 1986 with “American Anthem” and “Cobra”.
Boxoffice, July 3, 1954: “SANTA ROSA, CALIF. – Philip Zenovich, owner of the State Theatre at Petaluma, Calif., has purchased the Redwood Drive-In here from G. E. Burnette and Alfred Truslow jr., who built the airer in 1947. Zenovich said that he will revamp the 18-acre site to include a picnic area and a children’s playground.”
