The Royal Theater was opened on April 15, 1916 with Mabel Van Buren in “The Girl of the Golden West” & Charles Chaplin in “Cruel, Cruel Love”. Motion Picture World January 19, 1918, page 407 mentions Charles Parten “formerly had the Royal Theatre here”. It was closed in 1922 and went into retail use.

Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Barkwill launched the Royal Theatre on April 15, 1916 with “The Girl of the Golden West” and “Cruel, Cruel Love.” The Royal closed in 1922 and the space in the W.F. McGinnis building was retrofitted for other retail interests.
