The Golden West Drive-In was opened on July 21 1954 with Stewart Granger in “The Wild North” & Walt Disney’s “Nature’s Half Acre”. The CinemaScope screen was 66ft wide and 38ft high. It had a capacity for 600 cars. Operated as an independent in its early years, Famous Players took over management of the Golden West Drive-In in 1965 and ran it until it closed in 1980. The Golden West Drive-In site has since been redeveloped.
