The Windsor Theatre opened in 1941 and was right next door to the Hilton Theatre. Across the street was the Walbrook Theatre, The theatre closed in 1956 and was later used for different shops over the years. The front kept the Art Deco appearance for years, but recently had a paint job and lost all the color.
The theatre probably seemed a good venture but the Walbrook neighborhood fell apart almost overnight in the 1950’s. Anyway, compitition form the big Walbrook Theatre across the street was too stiff.

You have this wrong, the theaters are flipped. The taller one is the Hilton, the smaller the Windsor. My grandmother has a photo from the 1940s that clearly shows that to be true.
