Cinema 16

Built as a grocery store in 1954. The address was 624 Commercial Street and Richard L. Davis of Davis Theatres / Delta Z Corporation got permission from Waterloo to open a downtown XXX theatre. The Mini-Cinema 16 launched October 16, 1970 with “The Divorcee”. The City of Clinton filed a suit against Davis on January 10, 1971.

The lease expired and the Mini-Cinema-16 was relocated to 315 E. 4th Street on September 4, 1977. It still operated as an adult cinema in 2018, known as Cinema 16.
