Owned and operated by Michael Leitch, the South 1 & 2 opened January 17, 1973 with Walt Disney’s “Run, Cougar, Run” & Britt Ekland in “Asylum”. It was located in South St. Paul, MN. Designed by Cerney & Associates, Inc., the South 1 & 2 was equipped with Ballantyne automated projection systems, had a three-sided entrance, seats by American Seating in a red and purple color scheme and sound by Altec. The South 1 & 2 closed in 1977 according to one source.
