Located in Drimoleague, County Cork. The Tostal Cinema is first recorded in the press in 1943 but advertising regularly between 1947 and 1959. Films were generally screened once or twice a week with plays and concerts appearing to take priority when entering the 1960’s. The term “Tostal” is loosely translated as Pageant and was a festival celebrating Irish life.
