Located in Bewdley, Worcestershire. The St George’s Hall was built in 1901 courtesy of Mrs Woodward of the adjacent George Hotel, the hall itself is at the rear of the hotel. It was used for balls and parties and has also been home to a drill hall and needle factory. It was also used as a cinema, named St. George’s Hall Pictures. A trust was set up to buy the hall in 1964 and the 1960’s built extension was demolished in 2009 and replaced with a three-storey building to provide a foyer, lift, refreshment rooms and an exhibition area opening again in August 2013.
The Cinema in the Hall screened its first film in January 2014. As of 2018 films are shown every Thursday. They are programmed without advertisements and can be enjoyed in Surround Sound. The hall also features music and other events such as the annual Beer Festival.
