The Kallet Theatres Inc. circuit opened its 19th location with the Kallet Cinema Theatre in New Hartford, NY. It opened on July 22, 1966 with Dick Van Dyke in “Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N.” & “Run, Appaloosa, Run”. The theater’s pride was its 70mm projection. The $500,000 cinema had 950 seats and room for 800 cars in its parking lot. Carrol’s Development, later CinemaNational took over and renamed the theater “Cinema New Hartford”.
