Located in the port town of Goole, Humberside. The Coliseum Theatre was opened as a music hall in 1912. By 1917 it was mainly screening films. In 1921 it was re-named Tower Cinema. It had a 25ft wide proscenium and a 21ft deep stage. There were seven dressing rooms.
The Tower Cinema was equipped with CinemaScope in 1954 and had a screen 33ft wide and 13ft high (the largest in the town). The cinema closed on 27th December 1964 In early-1965 it reopened as a bingo club. The Tower Bingo Club was closed in 1991.
The building was put up for sale and there were hopes the council would purchase it and convert it into an arts centre. This never happened. The building was being used as an unofficial club.
The Tower Cinema was destroyed by an arson fire in March 1995. Two 16 years old youths were charged with arson in December 1965 and were ordered to do 140 hours community service as a punishment.
