The 112th Street Drive-In was opened by United Theatres (which was owned by Pacific Theatres) on August 2nd, 1968 with John Wayne in “The Red Berets” & Paul Newman in “Cool Hand Luke”. It was taken over by Star Cinemas in 1987 and closed after the 1988 season on November 17, 1988. The final movie was Louis Gossett Jr. in “Iron Eagle II”.
Apartments have been built on the site.

The 112th closed at the expiry of its 20 year leasing agreement with “Iron Eagle II” on November 17, 1988.
Actually, you’re really close. The actual closing date is actually ten days later, on November 27, 1988 with “Child’s Play” and “Betrayed” (yes for that same reason). Star Cinemas, who operated the nearby Rialto and Parkland Theatres at the time, was its last operator.
