Theatorium

This ‘Picture Show’ appears on the 1914 Sanborn, operating in an old three-story brick commercial building. The building was constructed sometime before 1886, and originally was a store with the Masonic Lodge on the third floor. The 1909 map shows the Masons gone, and a dry goods store on the ground floor. At some point, the roof was lowered several feet.

This theater was doubtless not able to compete with three larger theaters within a block and a half, and the 1925 map shows it reverted to retail use. The building today is in good shape, and has an office on the first floor with possibly apartments above.
