Located close to the Place de La Republic in the north of the city centre. The Theatre Folies-Dramatiques opened in 1896 or 1897. Seating was provided for 1,600-seats in orchestra, balcony, 1st gallery and amphitheatre. It was a live theatre, but was screening films as part of its presentations from the beginning. By 1906 it was a full-time cinema.

In 1951 it was remodeled in a Streamline Moderne style to the plans of architect M. Andre Lariviere. The seating capacity was greatly reduced to all seating on a single sloping floor. It was still open in 1965, but had closed and was demolished by 1969.

The Renaissance Republique Paris Hotel now operates on the site.
