In late-August 1974, Highland Theatres acquired the Cherry Knolls Theatre, then under construction and owned by Tom Goldfarb and Marvin Davis, per a report in the Denver Post.
The October 21, 1974 issue of Boxoffice mentioned that “a few days ago” the Cherry Knolls had opened, with 260 seats in each auditorium. (It opened on October 9, 1974.
A January 1975 note in the Post fixed the theatre’s address as 6911 S. University Boulevard, which happens to map very close to the more modern Regal SouthGlenn. The Cherry Knolls was closed in 1986.
