Cinema Ingolstadt

Situated in Ingolstadt, in Bavaria, the single screen Cinema opened in 1955 with 550 seats.

The seating was on one level. In 1974, due to the height of the auditorium, it was possible to sub-divide it horizontally, creating a second screen upstairs. This opened, with 290 seats, on 10th October that year.

At some time the Cinema closed. Together with its associated cinema, the Union (see separate Cinema Treasures entry) it was acquired by Augsburg-based entrepreneur Franz Fischer and they were re-opened in September 2012.

(In the meantime, the Mengele family, which had been operating the two cinemas, presented summer film seasons at the town’s Kino Open Air - see separate Cinema Treasures entry.)

Seating capacities are now 270 in Screen 1 and 200 in Screen 2.
