Lyric Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1911 Sanborn, in a two story brick and stone building which does not appear on the 1905 map. Located at the corner of 6th Street and Broadway. The Lyric Theatre was listed in the 1914-1915 edition of American Motion Picture Directory.

This building was quite deep, and would have been a respectable early venue, but the 1917 map shows a furniture store located here.

The building was used as retail for many years, and was rather shabby, with boarded up windows and an unattractive 1960’s storefront. It has been rehabbed, and is much closer to its historical appearance. It is used today by some sort of community organization.
