As advertised in the Petaluma Argus Courier, the Unique Theatre opened July 21, 1904, by the Big Cineograph Co. It offered high class vaudeville, moving pictures and illustrated songs for 10 Cents.
The Unique Theatre made it into the Sanborn Maps 1906 and 1910 labeled stage & scenery. Elec footlights.
The Argus Courier remembered the Unique Theatre in its Yesteryear column as being owned by the colorful Professor J. Kinney.
On December 21, 1966, the Argus Courier published a history and photograph of the Unique Theatre, which was torn down the previous week. The building had been home to the American Legion Hall since Professor Kinney sold it in December 1920.
