The Nagano Grand Cinemas opened its doors on June 24, 2006 as a replacement of the twin-screen Nagano Toho Grand Theater which closed two months and twenty days beforehand after serving the city for 40 years.
The first four screens were located on the fourth floor, while the remaining four screens were located on the second floor. It was also the only theater in Nagano that has 3D installations. Screen 1 is the largest with 302 seats and Screen 8 is the smallest with 107 seats. The rest of the auditoriums have their capacities range from 129-180.
