Opened prior to 1900 as Genovar’s Opera House. On June 8, 1909 it was renamed Orpheum Theatre. It was known for its unique and artistic displays, including stuffed birds and animals, which created a tropical atmosphere. The theatre was managed by Vern E. Johnson, who was known for his innovative ideas and successful promotional campaigns. It was still open in 1937, but had closed by 1938.
