Cinecity Zart

After the popular Orion Theater closed in the downtown theater streets of Shizuoka, the 10-screen Cinecity Zart opened its doors on October 5, 2011 with 1,941 seats and 20 wheelchairs (two in each auditorium).

What’s really unique about the Zart is that the Cinecity Zart still has 35mm projection to this very day. You can find them running in four auditoriums (Screens 1, 3, 5, and 7). There is also a 4KRGB laser projection installed for deep bass experience in Screen 1.

Screens 1 and 10 are the largest with an estimate 313 to 320 seats, with Screen 1 having both 5.1ch and 7.1ch sound systems. The rest of the auditoriums have just 5.1ch sound only. Screen 8 is the smallest with 76 seats, and the rest of the auditoriums have ranging capacities of 86-231.

The Zart also held various special events, including in June 2018, where Shizuoka natives Makoto Hasebe and Ryota Oshima participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup as representatives of Japan, and a public viewing of several Japan national team matches were held at the Zart.
