The Lake Theatre was located to the side of the former Grand Opera House (later Grand Theatre) which closed when the Lake Theatre opened in 1950. It was operated by the Miner Properties Inc. chain. In January 1955 it was taken over by an independent operator.
The Lake Theatre was closed in 1969 and became a youth centre which was still open in 2009. It has since been demolished.
