The Grand Opera House was opened in 1890. It began screening movies by 1914 and the balcony was closed off to accommodate the projection room. It was renamed Grand Theatre by the 1920’s.
The Grand Theatre was operated for many years by the Miner Amusement Co. Inc. They closed it in 1950 when their adjacent Lake Theatre opened (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The Grand Theatre was demolished.
