Leamington resident Richard “Ziggy” Schiefer opened the Boonies Drive-In on August 5, 2015 with “Minions” and “Jurassic World”, housing a 60x40ft screen with unusual pillars beneath it, a capacity of 178 cars, and FM sound. The theatre was sold at the end of the 2026 season with Bill Pullman in “Casper” & Michael Keaton in “Beetlejuice”. The new owners have stated it will not reopen.
