Odeon Newmarket

Odeon Theatres opened the Roxy Theatre on July 27, 1950 with John Derek in “Rogues Of Sherwood Forest” (unknown if extras added). The Roxy Theatre was also the replacement of the nearby Palace Theatre, which closed around the same time.

It was later renamed the Odeon Theatre during the early-1960’s. Due to a lack of audiences, it was closed on January 10, 1985 with Richard Gere in “The Cotton Club”. It was converted into a fitness centre.
