This modern 16 screen multiplex opened on May 12, 1999. It features all stadium seating with high back rocker chairs and cup holder arm rests. The sound was originally DTS Dolby stereo sound, now Dolby surround sound. The auditoriums have assistive listening devices and closed caption viewing. A large lobby (originally with three concession areas) now has one concession area. There are two party rooms off the lobby. The entire theatre was designed with customer friendly features.

From the map, this does not appear to be the same as the Southhaven multiplex I remember from the 1970s/80s. That was on the West side of Highway 51 just South of the Tennessee State Line.
The Desoto Cinema opened on May 12th, 1999. Grand opening ad posted.
