Cinema 4 sign

The UA Cinema 4 opened on December 22, 1978 seating 1,350. The theatre exterior was done in a Southwestern style with an adobe accent. The Cinema IV has a small lobby and the auditoriums were small as well. The theatre closed on October 7, 1997 and for a while became a laser tag center.

This building has been empty for quite some time.

A few years ago the interior was gutted in preparation for turning the place into a bar or night club, but problems with the city concerning a building permit put an end to the construction.

Today, in 2012, the building is empty and has a “for lease” sign on it.

The main auditorium was the first Dolby Stereo screen in the city IIRC.
