But I’ll be honest with you. This is probably the most challenging part of the website we’ll ever need to develop. With over 8000 theaters, we need to have a system that can support tens of thousands of images.
This is something that’s going to take a serious amount of time and money to develop and support. And since we’re a volunteer organization with meager resources, that’s a challenge for us.
Thankfully though, with the publication of our book, adding this feature is more of a possibility now. As always, check the Add-A-Photo page for updates on this issue.
I can’t promise you that we’ll implement your feature request, Ron… but we will certainly consider your idea for inclusion in a future version of the site.

Here’s my short list: The Aviator, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Hotel Rwanda, and Flight of the Phoenix (pretty sure it won’t top the original, but I’m still planning to go.)
I bet so, but please remember we have several categories of news — including memories and cameos. The idea is to touch upon all aspects of “Cinema Treasures”, not just press releases from different theaters and chains.
Roger — our next big upgrade will include the return of photo submissions. But, again, it’s a complicated task and we won’t do it until we’re confident that we have a system that can properly support tens of thousands of images.
Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. We definitely plan to address this issue with the next version of Cinema Treasures. I think you’ll all be very happy with the solution we’ve developed.
Relax, Jim. If my home or car was “tagged”, I’d be just as upset as anyone else whose property has been vandalized. But, even then, graffiti would still be art.
Jim — Graffiti is clearly art, but it’s an underground art form that is mostly expressed through illegal means. In fact, there are many graffiti artists who have gone legit and whose work is exhibited in art galleries around the world.
Whether we call it art or not, graffiti is likely to occur in vacant buildings, rail yards, tunnels, and other derelict spaces. Is it illegal? Yes. Is it wrong to deface property? Yes. But it’s still art.
Andy — keep in mind that this theater is located just down the street from Columbus Circle so it’s really just a train ride away from latino neighborhoods to the north like Morningside Heights, Washington Heights, etc. And, given the unique need this theater meets, I’m sure people will travel from even further distances (Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn) to see movies there.

The Aviator is pretty entertaining. Sometimes, it felt like a A&E Biography special, but overall, it was quite enjoyable.
I still need to see The Polar Express too.

If you wish to include photos in your comments, please make sure the images are less than 565 pixels wide or we will have to remove them again.
