Open ~1940-~1967? Can anyone verify the exact dates?

It was the Solano Theatre in 1967.

Owners:

1940 Mann & Walsh Theatres

1967 Homer I.Tegtmeier & Associates of San Francisco, they had 4 theaters in California.

The Website mentions “ALL ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY FREE ENTRY with valid ID”, that’s cause Fairfield is the home of Travis U.S. Air Force Base.

I went by this theater in 2003 and it was a comedy club, the only thing that had changed from when it had been a movie theater was its name.

More info and photos are always welcome.

IN THE ADDRESS, PLEASE CHANGE:

U.S. 30 TO LINCOLN HIGHWAY

For some reason when you go to the Map, U.S. 30 does not go to the correct corner, but Lincoln Highway goes to the site of the Drive-In.

The old address, Cherokee Street & Main Street, when you go to the Map, shows the entire United States, not very helpful.

In the above photo, the 1872-1874, Julius H. Huber, Wheelock & Thomas, Delaware Building on the corner, now has a McDonalds in it. The building to it’s right is the ford center for the performing arts ORIENTAL THEATRE. The building behind the Delaware Building is also part of the ORIENTAL THEATRE. It is the 1907-1908 Holabird & Roche, Oliver Typewiter Co. Building. In the 1990s, when the ORIENTAL THEATRE wanted to expand its backstage area, Architect Daniel P. Coffey came up with a design plan that used the Oliver Building, while preserving the building’s Dearborn Street facade and a portion of its alley facade.
