I just pointed a potential buyer that way, we’ll see what happens…:)
Now that the plagiarism has been removed, would it not be a good idea to remove the post pointing it out? It serves no purpose now, and could be potentially embarrassing to Ken. (Hint: if you reword the same description to fit your own personality, it is no longer plagiarism…you can still convey the same information, just in an original way. It’s no longer illegal after that.)
The website link is not working.
The link or website is down for this theatre…one of the 2. But this link does NOT take you to any theatres' web page.
Scratch that last comment…it was the Gopher in Wheaton I was referring to. (Sorry guys)
It looks as if they are back in business as a theatre. They have show times available @ 320-563-0315.
They are playing “Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist” as of today.
The Sliman family donated this theater to the City of New Iberia in 1994. State Representative Bo Ackal initiated efforts to acquire funding to preserve this “Art Deco” gem and restore it to its useful purpose for the community. As a result of these efforts, the City received a State Capital Outlay Grant in 1995 for the proposed project and work began in 1997. The doors of The Sliman Theater for Performing Arts opened in 1998, since then the theater has established itself as a quality venue for performance art.
It’s nice to see that some people still donate to worthy causes. Now the city has a live venue for generations to come if they can maintain it.
They are closed. Both numbers listed for them are disconnected, & mail is returned as undeliverable. It may not be a bad thing that it did close because every review I found about them was not good at all. Here’s one just for reference.
it’s open! The new number is 618-344-0026 and it’s operating as a live venue.
Here is their official website. There is also a photo of the theatre on this page.
The number is disconnected and mail is returned as not deliverable as addressed when sent to the above address. I’m guessing they aren’t open for business.
I have to correct myself on that last post. It seems I’ve just got some paperwork from them today that leads me to believe that they were merely having phone issues. The owners listed is correct and the theatre is still operating. (Sorry guys!) ~ Lost Memory, I’m glad to see an average working stiff w/ such an avid interest in theatres. I work in the industry myself (I provide a means of additional income for theatres.), and am in contact w/ hundreds of theatres across the nation. W/ the exception noted above, my information is usually very accurate as I have to communicate w/ them constantly.
The theatre is now closed. I don’t know if it’s for sale or not, but the owners were Tony and Sharon Eldreth. Both numbers are now disconnected, & I haven’t gotten any paperwork from them in a while.
Lost Memory ~ I see you all over this site, are you one of the owners or an administrator for this site?
