The Marion Theater was opened on October 6, 1936 with seating provided for 680 in orchestra and balcony levels. It was the fifth theatre built by the Solomon Brothers, built for Teddy Solomon by his father & uncle. Later twinned and renamed Marion Twin Cinemas, it was closed in February 2010.

It was purchased by new operators in November 2011 and was renovated. It reopened as the Marion Theater in June 2012. Seating is now provided for 188 in each auditorium.

The Marion Theatre, which should be an aka name, is listed in 1955 with 680 seats.

If you ever want to map this theatre use the address 644 Main St.

You need to do things like that due to the high accuracy of Google maps. LOL

When you click on the map button above you receive the message “We were not able to locate the address”. If you remove the address number and street name and replace it with Marion Twin Cinema, Google will return “604 Courthouse Sq”. Very strange.

Opened as the Marion Theatre in the late-1930’s, it was operated by Affiliated Theatre and later by Theatre Services. From what I found it was converted to a twin in the early-1990’s, seating is listed at 680.

The warm and inviting service welcomes everyone local or visitor. The clear quality sound and dancing 3d images of the new OZ movie reminded me why I love watching movies on the big screen. Thank you Marion Theaters for reminding me to disconnect, unplugging me from the digital world and allowing me a few hours to enjoy a story/movie.
