I lived about 6 blocks from the Sanford near Kless Diner and used to go every Sat afternoon in 50’s and early 60’s. I saw Jerry Lewis there live for opening of films . One i beleive was Visitor to a Small Planet in 1960. I started doing concerts at Symphony Hall in Newark and have toured in evry city in theatres and venues for over forty years. The Sanford was my first theatre and started and interest in old theatres I still possess. I have helped refurbish theatres in Asbury Park, Red Bank , Ocean Grove sometime with lighting or finding old seats that matched. The Sanford was a great local movie theatre.
I did lighting for the concerts at Symphony hall starting with The Beach Boys and Buffalo Springfield, Also did the Stone and all the other concerts there. I met the WHO opening for Herman’s Hermits and toured with them off and on for Forty Years. Any photo’s of cocnerts would be greatly appreciated.
I own Gemini Lighting Tv productions formally Gemini Light Shows. I did Lighting and light shows for the Ritz during all the concerts. I was also head tech and usually stage manager as well. I had equipment behind screen onstage as well as in projection booth where I controlled all the lighting and effects. In the 45 years I worked and toured with bands the Ritz was my favorite. Any photos of the concerts would be appreciated.
