17 years too late but the comment above from dgordon from 2002 about the Bay Ridges drive-in which was close by and shut down in 1974 cannot be correct. The Bay Ridges page here on Cinema Treasures has several ad photographs including one from an April 1979 issue of the Toronto Star listing the Buck Rogers movie at Bay Ridges.

Ok, the above says it was closed around 1973. One of the photos in the photo section has an ad for the Buck Rogers movie from the Toronto Star on April 19, 1979. So this theater lasted way longer than 1973.

Google no longer likes that address. It prefers 2133 TN-30, Athens, TN 37303. Still can’t get Historic Aerials to find the right place.

Cobleskill is the name of the larger town just to the northeast of where the drive-in is.

Not only is the screen still up as of a June 2018 street view, but the ticket booths and marquee are both still there as well. It would also appear that the projection booth/concession stand were repurposed. So the whole thing is pretty much intact, just the small problem of houses/other buildings in the way….

The skeletal remains can be seen in the most recent Google Street view which is from September of 2012. If you look closely at the current aerial view, which is more recent, the skeleton screen is gone.

It’s visible in the aerial from 1972 straight south of Elkhart. It’s gone almost without a trace in the 1991 aerial.
