Mid-1980s sketch I made while sitting in my car. At the time, the ticket lobby was blocked off by a painted wooden wall, and some kind of signage next to the door (which I didn’t draw in detail), indicated that the theater was being used for church services.

Notice I wasn’t alert when drawing the letters on the marquee. I wrote PORTRERO. Yet, in the caption at the bottom of the drawing, I spelled it correctly.
