The former Ritz Theatre in downtown Houston was opened on April 15, 1926 with Buck Jones in “The Fighting Buckaroo”. On December 21, 1973 it was taken over by McLendon Theatres and was renamed Majestic Metro Theatre, screening “Cleopatra Jones” starring Tamara Johnson. It is now the Majestic Metro, a banquet hall.

Opened in the 1920’s, the Film Daily Yearbook, 1941 gives a seating capacity of 980. It was operated by Paramount Pictures Inc under their subsidiary Will Horwitz.
