This theater recently reopened after briefly being closed. The Capitol is in terrific condition and is one of the highlights of visiting this part of Colorado. The theater features a blue and white neon marquee as well as a well-preserved interior. The outside is clad in painted adobe.

Currently it shows first run movies on a nightly basis.

We've got current pix of the resurrected Capitol. We'll post them asap. If you want to see it now, go to the Springfield, Colorado website. I'd say they're pretty pleased with the re-opening. They should be. These building started off its life as a livery stable, but it's been a theatre for many years. If any "Springfielders" are reading this, post some more info and maybe some interior pix. You've got a great theatre.

Just recently visited the Capitol, and it looks great! Congrats on the reopening! Springfield should be proud of this accomplishment. I've got new pictures, too!

Another Capitol tidbit. They serve pizza and will bring it directly to your seat. I guess that's a Capitol tradition. How's that for service? Actually, we just met the owners, and they're doing a great job!
