Magic Circle Theatre operates the Tower Theatre and the nearby Roseville Theatre which is also on Vernon Street.

The group has renovated the exterior and lobby of the Tower Theatre, which first opened as a movie theatre in 1939, closing in 1983. Since around 2002 it has used the restored theatre as a venue for performing arts.

I think that the name of this theater should be Tower Theater. Status should be open and seating is 270.
There is a photo of the Tower Theater here:

The related website listed above is for the former Roseville Theatre at 405 Vernon Street, not the Tower Theatre.

Charles;
I have the Roseville Theatre listed at 245 Vernon St.

The Tower Theatre is listed as having a seating capacity of 1,100 in the 1950 edition of Film Daily Yearbook. It now operates as a live theatre 'in the round' by the Magic Circle Theatre who operate out of the former Roseville Theatre.

Ken, the website for the Magic Circle lists the address for the Roseville Theatre as 241 Vernon St. I guess there could have been some address realigning.

In the early sixties, the Tower was operated by the General Theatrical Company, headquartered in San Francisco. Ben Levin was the general manager. General Theatrical also operated the Avenue and Empire in San Francisco and the Garden, Jose, Liberty, Crest and Citrus Heights Drive-In in San Jose.
