Opened in 1941, this theater was totally renovated in 1996 by Act 3 Theatres of Portland, Oregon. As part of the renovation, new seats, a new screen, new projection system, new digital sound system, and a snack bar were installed.

The theater was later sold and gutted to make the interior a skate park.

This building has recently been purchased and is now an indoor skate park. The last owners gutted all the seats and theater equipment and sold it with the stipulation it cannot be a theater for 20 years. But the kids are loving it as a skate park.

A drawing of the Longview Theatre was published in Boxoffice, June 21, 1941. The architect was James W. DeYoung. DeYoung, of Portland, also designed at least three theaters in Oregon in the 1940s, at Tigard, Gresham, and Springfield.
