This was an old silent era theatre often advertised in the South Jersey Republican, published in Hammonton, next to the Palace Theatre. It operated from 1914 until 1927. The owner was Samuel Litke.

Used as a church for 15 years, then was used for storage. The Eagle Theatre was reopened as a movie theatre on July 9, 2009, with a screening of "Somewhere in Time" starring Christopher Reeve". First run movies commenced on July 15, 2009, with a midnight screening of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince".

Mr. Litke originally used the O'Donnell Building for his motion pictures. The building was too warm in the summer, so in 1912 he built a tent and called it the Eagle Theatre. The bricks and mortor Eagle Theatre, replacing the tent, was built in 1914 and closed in 1927. Located near 2nd avenue.

This building was a church in 1942. The address is 202 Vine Street. Here is the information concerning this theater:

HISTORY OF HAMMONTON FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD

On June 14, 1942, the church purchased another old movie house (The Eagle Theatre) at 202 Vine Street and remodeled it for a permanent place of worship. An apartment was constructed at the back of the building to serve as a parsonage for the pastor’s family.

Take a page from what the Broadway Theatre in Pitman did wrong, run movies at times when people go to movies, advertise and run classics to set yourself apart.
