This drive-in operated from 1969 to 1988. The property is abandoned and deteriorating, although there has been some local interest in preservation.

According to this website, the first Holiday Drive-In opened in 1953 with a capacity for 650 cars. Its location was 30th Street. In 1969, the original drive-in was demolished and this Holiday Drive-In opened at 28th Street & Lee Hill Road where it operated until 1988. The marquee has been saved and designated as a local historic landmark. The marquee will be restored to look exactly like the original 1953 marquee. So, 28th Street & Lee Hill Road should be the location for this former drive-in.

The original Holiday Drive In was entered from 28th Street. The drive was a long one. When 30th Street was cut though in the 1960s, the sign and the entrance were moved to 30th Street, and the old two-block drive from 28th became a city street. The entire operation was moved to North 28th Street and Lee Hill Road. I don't know when it became a twin.

So the famous sign has actually been in three places. It has been restored, but it is in the twin form.

Status should be demolished. This is now a housing development.
