Opened in 1984 ahead of the neighborhood, this location struggled to find an audience and for years operated as a discount house.

When this section of Davie finally bloomed attendance improved but state-of-the-art competition also came.

AMC departed the Ridge Plaza 8 after 25 years in July 2009. New owners Liebe Entertainment Group are promising extensive renovations and upgrades for a Fall 2009 reopening:
