The Fox Drive-In in Aiken was located about 20 miles from Augusta. It served this horse loving town well into the 1970's as commercial real estate started to creep out towards the bomb plant.

Aiken also had the Park Drive-In, the Aiken Drive-In and the Tower Drive-In. The Fox Drive-In is the only one I remember seeing since I lived in Georgia and we wouldn't be driving to Aiken for a movie.

The Fox Drive-In parked 600 cars and was owned by Consolidated. It was a large Drive-In.

In 1969 The Fox had these two movies, "Mad Doctor of Blood Island" and "Blood Demon"
which were billed as, "the horror shows that have everything!" In September of 1960 The Fox was playing "Cash McCall" and "Johnny Belinda".

Today a large shopping center is there. What else is new. However, well into the 1980's while the screen was long gone, the concession/booth sat in search of a movie screen. And now its gone since another shopping center took that spot.

I do remember going by the FOX DRIVE IN as a child when my parents drove to Aiken on Whiskey Road. I remember a pretty large screen at least for a 9 year old. It was running a movie, but i can't remember.

Across the river in Augusta, The FOX DRIVE IN in Aiken is playing A FINE PAIR,like the SKYVIEW DRIVE IN. However, instead of an Elvis second feature THE FOX has Gregory Peck in THE STALKING MOON. The ad says two first runs!
