Deer Park Theater

Located in the Deer Park district to the north of Cincinnati. The Deer Park Theater was opened on December 17, 1946 with Maureen O'Hara in “Do You Love Me”. It was closed in 1962. It briefly reopened in the late-1960’s as the Beacon Hill Theater.

Although it appears to have been a church at some time in the recent past, the Deer Park Theater is still readily identifiable as a former movie house. It still retains something of a marquee and the double entry doors are still in use.

Reopened as the Beacon Hill in ‘69 or '70, showing art films and revivals. A real zoo in the kiddie matinee days of the sixties, with a real crabby woman (the owner?) who worked the candy stand. When they showed Hard Day’s Night she ran into the theatre yelling when all the girls started screaming.
