The Kenwood Twin opened in February 1967. It closed in June 1995 with “New Jersey Drive” and “Forget Paris”. Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Grill took it’s place.

I live in Cincinnati and know EXACTLY where those theaters once stood. HOWEVER, the American Bandstand grill has long since closed. Never even got the chance to so much as walk into the building.
The Kenwood was twinned in 1975 and closed in 1995.
This theatre was opened as the Loew’s Kenwood Theatre. What year did National Amusements take over operations. National Amusements had the Kenwood Towne Centre Cinemas in the mall on Montgomery but I didn’t know that they operated this one.
August 9 1974 now showing “WHITE DAWN” at 7:40 and 9:40.
If it opened as LOEWS KENWOOD then LOEWS must have built it or aquired it before opening I will have to check on this.
This was originally a Mid-States theatre, like most of the first-run houses in Cincinnati that were not Showcases. Mid-States' entire operation ultimately got folded into Loews, and then Loews sold them all to National Amusements.
It just hit me – Northgate, Tri-County, Kenwood, 275 East…all the multiplexes in Cincinnati that National Amusements inherited from Loews are gutted or demolished. Wow, I am really old!
Yep.we are all heading that way,meheuck.LOL.
I think that RKO-Stanley Warner Theaters opened it, not Loew’s.
I remember this theater was known for it’s 70mm engagements. I only went there once in 89' to see Indiana Jones & the last crusade, It was spectacular ! I also remember Die Hard in 88' playing there & True Lies in 94' I know Die Hard was playing in 70mm but i’m not sure if True Lies was in 70mm . Though there were talks of it playing in certain theaters in 70mm in 94' i’m not sure if they did away with it by then.
