The Rex is located on 5th Street in the town of Hayden, Arizona. You can still make out the name and a few pieces of broken neon are hanging on.

The Film Daily Yearbook, 1941 gives a seating capacity of the Rex Theater as 350. The F.D.Y 1950 gives a seating capacity of 550.

This is a 2003 photo that is supposed to be the Rex Theater in Hayden, AZ.

I can verify that the photo posted by lostmemory is indeed of the Rex in Hayden. I have a few shots of the Rex that I will also post.

Thanks for verifying the photo Don. Some of the photos that I come across don't specify which city the theater is located in, only the state. It becomes a guessing game as to which theater the photo belongs to.

I saw a shot of this theater showing most of the rest of the block on some website, and it looked like a ghost town! Is it?

Hello dave 1954. Hayden is like a ghost town, but with people. It was a dreary little town when we were there in 2006.
