Peafowl Theater

The Peafowl Theater opened in 1915. The building was a residence that was converted to a movie theater. The Peafowl Theater closed around 1929.

There is a company that makes “Concrete Accessories” located in the building that the Peafowl Theater was once located in. Their website has a photo of the building as it looks today. I believe that the left side of the building is the location of this former theater.

Just checked the map John O. Hill Company is listed at this address,there web-site does not work anymore.

Old family friend Delmas Jenkins told me he once went to the Peafowl and was terrified at the rough crowd in the place. At one point the manager came down the aisle cracking a bull whip to restore order!!!
