Single screen theater opened in 1949 in downtown Roxboro. Operated by Kirby family until closed December 31, 1973, purchased by Person County government, remodeled as a local community arts/civic auditorium.

This theater is now listed as the Kirby Civic Auditorium. The address is 213 North Main Street. There are alot of photos of the Kirby at this website:

Address is 215 N. Main Street. Kirby Theater website. And theater is spelled with an “er”.
