This small theatre stood on the courthouse square in downtown Plainview and was extremely plain in design. In the 1950s, when I knew it, it was showing second- and third-run features and attracted a big crowd of kids with a full program of cartoons, serials and Westerns on Saturday afternoons.

In 1955 the State Theater had 400 seats. The address given is 113 East 6th Street.
