The article you are referring to says Bagdad Theatre.

The Bagdad Theatre was located in the Ballard Building.

I posted an closing announcement from 1947 here. On June 25th, 1947, The Ballard Theatre at 2218 Market Street. It closed in 1959. Was the Ballard the Bagdad?

Webster and Stevens were photographers, not architects. The architect of the building was William R. Grant.

According to the 1936 AFY Yearbook, the Bagdad then seated 1,800
