I have the original architects drawing, Tucker and Howell. O.C.Lam, Sr. was my grandfather and I received many of the architect drawings of theatres he built.

Here is a brief article about Atlanta architects Tucker & Howell, designers of the Royal.
That would be intact. Sorry
I was the architect who did the facade restoration work on this theater in 2003. You can find out more by visiting my website at www.dmarcht.com Funding was not available to do a complete restoration, but further work could be done in the future to complete the exterior and tackle the interior which is still partially in tack.
excuse me, 50 MILES south of Atlanta
It would be awesome to see this grand old building come back as a center for the arts, including movies, plays, concerts. This theatre is app. 50 south of Atlanta and while the area is growing, it still remains “small town” and hopefully will for many years to come. City Hall is currently occupying the building.
Status should be Closed. Function could be Office Space unless there is something else on the function list that is more appropriate.
Here’s a 2007 look at the ROYAL.

Here is a recent photo of the Royal Theater.
From the Troup County History site:
“Built in 1937 for O. C. Lam and the Lam Amusement Company. The Art Deco building was designed by Tucker and Howell architects of Atlanta. The Royal was later operated by the Jabaley family”.
According to the National Register listing for the Royal, the theatre was designed by the Atlanta architectural firm of Tucker & Howell. It remained in use as a movie house until 1980 and has been Hogansville’s city hall since 1984. It’s really a remarkably sophisticated building for a small town — wonder how much (if any) of the original interior survives.
Good golly this place is swell! How much of the interior is still intact?
