Opened in 1952 as the Star City Drive-In. The name was changed to the 220 Drive-In in 1970. This drive-in was located on Franklin Road (US 220 south). Car capacity is listed at 250. The 220 Drive-In closed around 1987 and was replaced with a shopping center.

Another victim of Walmart.

It was actually the first Wal-Mart in that part of the state. I remember going to that drive-in in 1985 (we were underaged, so we used a piece of plywood to circumvent the “severe tire damage”); they still used window speakers, which I found funny when watching porno. :)
